Welcome.
Experienced marketing professional with a passion for wellness & writing. My background includes project management, leadership, and strategy work to propel brands forward. I'm experienced in managing digital marketing, email marketing, social media, events, websites, PR initiatives, product launches, influencer programs, content creation, and working closely with business development teams to support sales strategy.
I am no stranger to hard work and strongly believe that when you work hard, good things happen. I am committed to growing in my career and seeking opportunities that challenge me. With any new challenge, I believe that asking the right questions is crucial for success. Inquiring about the “why” of current company procedures, while constantly advocating for new innovative solutions.
Working for several small companies has provided me with the opportunity to wear many hats. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how all the moving parts of a business come together to drive its mission forward.
In regard to my professional goals, I am seeking a role that allows me to expand my creativity and maximize my leadership skills to deliver meaningful results for a company that excites me and aligns with my values.
TOUGHNESS.
"Toughness isn’t physical. It has nothing to do with size, physical strength or athleticism. It’s an intangible, an attitude, a philosophy…I believe that true toughness is a skill that can be developed and improved." - Jay Bilas | College Basketball Analyst and Former Professional Basketball Player
I used to keep this essay "Toughness" by Jay Bilas in my gym bag and would make a point to re-read it every few weeks before or after practice or big games. Since being out of basketball, I stumbled across it again and read it through the lens of a corporate professional vs. a basketball player. Many of these concepts apply to being a part of a corporate team, and how to win at work.
Here are some highlights that Jay Bilas references of how I strive to be "tough" in my career.
-
Set a good screen: The toughest players to guard are the players who set good screens. When you set a good screen, you are improving the chances for a teammate to get open, and you are greatly improving your chances of getting open.
Set your team up for their success.
-
Talk on defense: The toughest players talk on defense, and communicate with their teammates.
Communicate effectively with your team.
-
Take and give criticism the right way: Tough players can take criticism without feeling the need to answer back or give excuses. They are open to getting better and expect to be challenged and hear tough things.
Welcome growth.
-
Take responsibility for your actions: Tough players make no excuses. They take responsibility for their actions.
Own your mistakes and learn from them.
-
Make getting better every day your goal: Tough players come to work every day to get better, and keep their horizons short. They meet victory and defeat the same way.
Be curious and ask why.
Mental toughness means being a leader in the face of adversity, leading by example, being an effective communicator, working hard, and controlling your mindset. I believe if we all work towards these every day, we will be successful.
